The Imperial has one GREAT segment over the metric, so it's possible to mix and match and do the best of both!

 

Hmmmm... Seems to me there is only one option.

 

Yeah, ride the SS while she rides the CX bike.....duh.

 

Well this is shaping up to be the best year ever!!!

 

And... The Hellfire Fat Tire Race on Camp Pendleton falls on the same day as the Strada Rossa for the third year in a row.

I really want to start getting in some long-distance endurance rides. I'm very tempted to start with this one.

 

Chino Hills tomorrow! 50 miles with some fun single tracks...

The Strada Rossa is a fun event, and it looks like there will be a few of us out there.

 

I was just looking at that and it's 80 miles away. Not sure I want to get up at 3 in the morning tomorrow. If you are having another one next weekend I will plan for it as I'm off the following week.

 

RSR is a good one to check out, as there's no pressure to compete. Unless you like pressure to compete, in which case there's tons of pressure!!!

 

That early in the morning on a Sunday, should be about 1:15 drivetime. Roll time can be pushed :30

Well....looks like we are gonna have to run the 100 miler.....just found out Suz has to work that day.

Woohoo....another 100 miler on the SS.

 

It's okay, those extra 35 miles are all downhill!!!

And relatively flat: 101.3 miles, 9,724 ft!!!

Actually, the Imperial century has two of my favorite segments on it. It'll be a lot of fun if not too hot!

 

I was kinda looking forward to the kids’ ride! Oh well... maybe next time.

I kid, I kid... the route really isn't any harder than some of your rides out your back door... and you'll have good people out there with you!!!

Registration is going to go up $20 soon, so if you're on the fence, it's a good time to commit!!!

Thinking about stealing the wheels/tires off Suz’s CX bike.

 

Don't stop with just the wheels. Take the whole bike!

I was thinking of throwing some gears on. I think the 2.2 Rekon and 2.2 RaRa will be fine as far as tires.

 

There are about 16 miles of road segments that having gears you can spin up would be nice.
Remember though: 16 miles of boring road means that the other 84 miles are amazing!

FYI, the 60 and the 100 are both primo routes. The 100 adds on a challenging climb early on, as well as some great rural dirt in the middle. If anyone is thinking between the two, you can make the call on the fly based on what you're feeling.
