2018 Non Dot race series

Registered for the oaks event. This will be my first race with non-dot. I'm not going to be taking it seriously and I'll be there for the laughs. I'm making my wife spectate and provide me a beer handup at hte end of lap #1.

 

That’s what we all say until the gun goes off....then the mentality changes.

It cool bombing down Barham and Chutes without worrying about uphill traffic.

 

Don't forget Party People, The Non-Dot race is tomorrow at Aliso so there will be some closed trails til at least 10am. Carry on!

 

And I will be out there riding some of those closed trails before 10am.....hopefully.

 

Cheering crew will be at the bottom of Cholla!

 

Ummmmm... are you entering the race, or just demonstrating your contempt for closed trails? Or will you be there before 7am? Orrrrr, riding trails that do not intersect these trails? Orrrr, working the event?

Trail Closure

On Saturday May 19 the following trails will be closed from 7-10:30 a.m. for a special event: Aliso Creek East, Wood Canyon, Mathis Canyon, Cholla, Lynx, and Rock-It

So did anybody do this event?

 

There were quite a few of us out there.....some raced, some heckled and cheered, some pushed the broom.

Perfect morning for a race. Overcast with cool temps and occasional mist.

Some really fast guys......made the Mathis/Rock It/Coyote loop look short.

Some carnage....but everyone rode out on their own 2 wheels.

Good times.

 

I participated. I would not call it "racing" for me. More survival mode. As with the other two races so far, I got smoked by a bunch of teenage girls. Whatever; I have wine to console me and they can't even drink for another 5-8 years....so there My goal was to clean Cholla and Mathis, and finish without incident. I fixated on a cactus on Cholla and ended up stepping off to fix my line, but other than that accomplished what I set out to do. If you participate for no other reason than ripping the parks with closed trails, the included photos, the people, and the sideshow attraction (ahem: Rox and Shitty) it will be well worth your money

 

I was signed up for it but didn't make it.
I'm signed up for the last one (6/30 - Oaks). I will not make that one as well.
