FWIW, I was in a bike shop today (I won't name names) and they had an eBike on the floor. Looked like it was getting a lot of use. I spoke with a salesperson and discussed the fact that the Rangers in both OC Parks and the CNF considered eBikes to be motorized and illegal on most trails. This seemed to be news to the salesperson, so I went on to mention the idea that many of us worry that continued eBike use could possibly get all mtb use banned on these trails.

I went on to say I don't know what the access outcome will be, but would consider owning one if they were legal where I lived. At least when I'm old and worn out. But when that day comes (as if it isn't already here), I don't think easier climbing is going to prevent downhill accidents. Descending for me takes at least as much effort as getting to the top, at least when I'm having fun, and all the "e" in the world ain't going to keep me upright w/o physical fitness and/or upper body strength.

PS: @Mikie: I know, I know.. Wrong thread, wrong topic, wrong everything. Won't hurt my feelings if you move it, delete it, put concrete shoes on it and drop it to the bottom of Pyramid Lake.

 

Half assed attempt at a re-rail. Here's captain crooked helmet @Mikie with a look that could mean just about anything. Here's what I predict...

What the heck is going on with his knees? Looks like he used them for brakes. And that outfit does not go with the bike.

Lol, agree and I said something similar about Intense/Ellsworth’s graphics recently... I think I said Ellsworth’s font looks like a tramp stamp/stomach tattoo and the intense flames remind me of lifted trucks heading to Havasu circa the 90’s. Nothing to do with how the bikes perform, just my own petty opinion.

 

Crooked helmet. It pains me to see such a chintzy head badge on your new ride to be. I have been known to fab HB's out of ones favorite or least fave beer can. If interested give up some options & I might mail one to you complete with sticky back adhesive.

They also work for shims & seal installers.

 

Sooooo, @Mikie when are you going to try the Bronson?

 

Make him a HB with the IMTBtrails logo.
