Who's Riding Where???

Planning ahead: Friday morning, maybe Monroe TT. Must be home by noon. Anyone interested, start time will be a bear due to rush hour. I'm thinking 7 or 7:30.

 

Going to head up Albertson to China Flats and back around 9.

 

No rain falling there? If so, should make for hero dirt!

 

It passed about an hour ago. Right now we have clear blue skies but it is a little chilly outside. Hero dirt is not necessary for fire roads, or is it?

 

No-dust conditions are important anywhere, anytime on the dirt.

It sprinkled enough to get the ground wet here but it looks like it has no passed.

 

Better burn your clothing afterwards. Dirt is the new lipstick.

 

Would hero dirt have kept you outta the rut yesterday?

My back is feeling remarkably better so I'm going to head over to Sycamore Canyon and do some easy laps. Thinking up Overlook to Guadalasco then back up Overlook to Backbone and out.

 

Short slow loop. LCWP from Ridge Park around 3:30!

 

I'm gonna ride somewhere tomorrow. I've got a yearning for some Cheseboro. But then again, some Backbone would be nice. Heck, I haven't been to Wildwood, Sycamore, or Los Robles yet this year! I already know that Strawberry is great lately, so that's a nice option. And if I wanna just stay close to home, Brown Mtn/El P is a solid choice. Tapia has got to be nice at this time of the year, too. And GE, it's always great. I'm gonna ride somewhere tomorrow...

 

Existential angst, defined.

 

I'm fighting off a mild fever and head cold. Sinus pressure makes me think my head might explode. Not sure if I can ride tomorrow.

My adoring fans will be deprived!

 

Just wait. It gets worse. I’m going on week two of this.

 

I feel much better today than yesterday. Should I cling to that or is it false hope?

 

Hopefully it’s not false hope. I started with a fever and sinus pressure and it’s morphed into a cough that won’t go away.

 

A week of cough and respiratory pain, finally feel good tonight. Hope it's over! Shooting for a short ride tomorrow to guage the lungs.

 

Weirdest sinus issue ever, over a month but on and off, not constant. ENT gave me a one week z pack 4 weeks ago, helped maybe a week then came back. A couple weeks ago, felt like a full on sinus infection, and sore throat. Sneeze and blow yellow-red mucus all day, cough, watery eyes. Wife insisted I go to allergist. Nothing, I am allergic to nothing. Tested for like 80 different trees, pollens, foods, flowers, animals. Allergy doc said go back to ENT. All I can say is at least it isn't in my chest/lungs. Sinus headaches are brutal tho.

Good luck you guys and gals, hope you don't get what I got. I do have another little issue with compromised/underperforming immune system, so you'll likely be better off than me, I hope.

going to Upstate real soon. It was 19 degrees there 2 weeks ago. Funny the place: its upstate New York but almost in Pa. So to me its south central but that is a completely different place.

 

That's funny... I was far enough removed from New York City that I never heard the "upstate" label until after I had moved to the south and landed in a den of transplanted NYCers. We were Western New Yorkers. And I was about an hour from Pennsylvania, right on the lake.

Riding today... Maybe an easy O'Neill- Whiting- Old Camp run.

 

I'm thinking hard about riding a sportboat tomorrow unless someone is planning a fun ride that I can jump in on.

 

Hmmmm... Either a Motorway loop in the morning or a Horsethief - Trabuco loop. I didn’t get enough HAB last week.

 

More Rwanda "training" tomorrow. More than likely I will head into Cheeseboro from home. Back feels better today so hopefully I will be able to incorporate some singletrack into my route. This will be my last chance to ride before Rwanda.

Someday I will have to make it out your way to sample those trails. They sound like fun.
