An FYI, as planned I worked on the Luge yesterday with a couple buddies. No major change ,but we worked on the last 2 turns at the very bottom (before that big uphill exit berm), and I don't know what kind of shape they're in today. Hopefully good, but last night's rain and today's riders may have altered them a bit. So ride, but be aware.

I asked a lot of riders how the Luge was yesterday, and they seemed universally happy about its current condition. Have fun if you ride it!

I’m confused which casual ride post thread my slow rides belong in. Whiting/Luge tomorrow am, probably 8:30am-ish pedal from Wahoos.

 

Mustard in Whiting was a greasy slimy mess this morning. People were carrying their bikes 'cause the tires wouldn't turn with all the mud caked on. The parts that the mud didn't stick to the tires were soft and spongy and took much more effort to pedal. Been a long time since I rode up Mustard and now I remember why I had my rule to wait a week after rain.

 

Luge/Old Camp it is! Thanks for the intel, didn’t even think of that.

 

Will be at the Oaks tomorrow 3/25. Goofing around on a plush 26" 'r.

 

Starting in the Canyon around 9:30-9:45 Sunday morning (3/25). Up Stairs, down Car Wreck, back to Stairs, over to LCWP, play on some trails, finish with a descent.

With @Cougar and a former student's dad with whom I've never ridden.

I'll be riding something local on Friday as well as Saturday. Final shakedown ride with all the bikepacking gear loaded. Almost GO time....

 

Excellent, John. Right behind you, man – frame taped, kit fitted. I'm down to the listed shuttle services to make the start from Mesa. Prolly little more $ than gassing up my truck. Any beta you got on shuttles is appreciated.

I don't know of any specific shuttles running from the PHX area, but take a look or post up on Bikepacking.net There are a couple of shuttle threads along with the main race planning/discussion thread.

 

I'm gonna do my utmost to drag myself outta bed early enough to commute on my bike tomorrow. It's supposed to be perfect, weather-wise.
