I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Why would I ride my bike when I could spend my time pulling off of the 15 south at Tom’s Farms to clean up barf that has chunks of strawberries and globs of Cheerios while on our way to the in-laws in Murrieta? Funny thing about it all is that during the whole debacle everyone acted as if it was completely normal and part of the plans for the day.

15,000' of climbing and descending today. My legs are toast for the second time this week.



On the lift at Mt. High. First time I nave ever skied or snowboarded over winter break at a place where it has not snowed AT ALL. I imagine the high was mid 60s. Disturbing.

Nevertheless, daughter and Dad had a great day.

 

Weird day... I think I have some sort of virus that has thrown me off. Pretty much stayed in bed for most of the day...

It was 80 degrees and windless, so I surfed, and then my son and I made my daughter a homemade cake for her first birthday.

Feeling better today, but just lazy. Was hoping to get a ride in, but went for a hike dragging the children around the desert.
They all pretty much collapsed at the end, so mission accomplished!

We were in Big Bear the last few days. I was in short sleeves and board shorts by the end! 65 during the day... Surprisingly, the conditions weren't bad on the runs that were open from early morning until 3:00 ish. Then everything turned to slush.

I didn't ride my bike because, well, I just didn't feel like it. Haven't felt like it yet this year, lol.

 

I shouldn't have, as I'm sick...

 

I have been toying on staircase trails, 4 miles of steps up and down, two days in a row. I am too old for this schist. All the youngsters passed my team, youth is wasted on the young. A lot of mud yesterday as expected, today the "muddy trail" was as somewhat dry, drier than I have ever seen. Is the world turning upside down? Anyway's it is not bad, it is just another day in paradise.

Because me and my whole family are sick. The way the last week has been not sure I’ll ever be able to ride again aaaahhhhhh.

 

No ride yesterday.....first time to a dermatologist, he decided to take a core sample from my shoulder, right where my bib sits.

No ride today....because Friday is a no ride day.

I won't be posting here tomorrow.

Just had 2 new biopsies plucked from my arm and back before Christmas and have to go back to get more meat removed from my arm after the results came back. Hope yours turns out better, I am used to it by now. Post grom life is rough.

 

Fortunately it was only 1....but he had to put a few stitches in to close it up. No pain. Will find out in 2 weeks.

 

Still sick... it's not super bad, but hanging on...
Went and saw Molly's Game for last day of vacation... it's nice seeing a grown-up movie occasionally!
Spent the rest of the day doing four corners of this:

 

Impromptu trip to CO to get my daughter some time on skis. Friends and family out there. Three nights in Breckenridge. Two days on beginner run(s). Great weather. Crappy snow, but it doesn’t matter for a newbie. By the way, it was snowing in my rear view mirror as we headed to Denver. I hope they get a lot!

 

I didn’t ride my bike, but I did take a drive out to the diner in Oakridge with the boys. I was wondering if the trails up top were snowed in, and then I saw this...

Two muddy young ladies and their single speeds. One of which is a Chameleon. I guess the trails are open.

 

It's Oregon. Just like the UK. The trails are always open.

I highly doubt I’ll be showing up for Counting Coup this year.. zero rides in 2018 but somehow I’ve lost 10lbs recently.
