I have been mtn biking and road riding since the mid '90's. The one constant I have had since day 1 is wearing Bell Helmets. Well, it was easy....since for the most part it was either Bell or Giro. I liked the way a lot of the Giro's looked, but they didn't fit my noggin. I knew I could order/purchase a Bell without trying it on, and it would fit.

They have saved my noodle on several occasions, and I have cracked my share of them.

On 4th of July going down Upper Holy Jim, I took a tumble:

Well, I put a nice sized dent into my Volt that was already going on 3 years old.

So my wife put in a good word with one of her connection through Over The Hump.....and I now have my first non Bell Helmet in 20 years......

Haven't had a chance to try it out yet. I did put it on, and it does fit quite a bit different that the XC lids I have been wearing. I'll have to see how it feels while riding.

You are not allowed to wear a Troy Lee without rear suspension... Give it back.

Nice...Just ordered myself a new Bell super 3 noggin nocker since my last Bell saved me. Received it from Jenson's yesterday and sent it back today for a different size. Apparently the mips helmets fit a bit differently.

Yeah... I'm with Herz on this one. That helmet is WAAAaaaaaay too stylish for a singlespeeder.
Gonna have to put my imtbtrails foot down on this one. You need to be on an FS with only one set of handlebars.

And you are right, Bell has fit my noggin' for decades. My Supah 3 fits awesome! It's my crooked melon that seems to be... off. (can of worms... just opened :whistling:)

Those Bell helmets are for Charlie Brown heads. They must have designed them using basketballs!

Hey J let us know what you think after a few rides.. Nice looking Lid.

Funny I *have* my first Bell as I have been a Giro guy.

Its the Super 2R I use in the parks, but I have been riding with it "no face" on my stouter rides, I like it definitely a bit more coverage pretty comfy too.

I see. So if Bell helmets are designed for round heads, what does that make yours, block shaped? You a blockhead? o_O

I have one of each depending on the type of riding. The Bell and the Giro do fit differently but I adapt within about 60 seconds. I guess I am a shape shifter?

Proper fit is a must for me as the helmet must be able to account for on the trail mind expansion.

I want try on a Kali. I am in between sizes on the Specialized Ambush and I just can't seem to get the fit just right....For the expansion.

I have an IXS RS, a Troy Lee A1 Mips, a 7 idp, two Bell Transfer 9s (full face) and an older Uvex and Giro Xen. They all fit pretty well. Like @SnakeCharmer I too must be a shapeshifter. The only helmet I could not get to fit my noggin no matter how hard I tired was the Bell Super 2.

My TLD starts out super comfy, but the Mips dots annoy the hell out of me on longer rides (keep in mind what my "longer" rides are). The Schleyer (IXS) is the most comfy, but the brow is too low for good visibility. The Uvex is light, comfy, has bug mesh, but it's old and a little skimpy on coverage, and the Xen was last worn by Bing 5 years ago. It still has Anaconda sweat on it. The 7 iDp wins by default - and it has bug mesh too.

I can't wait to ride with @mtnbikej with his new stylish lid. I hope he doesn't test its capabilities.

I only have one helmet...a Bell MIPS. I wear it on both the mtb and the road bike. I get some funny looks from the other roadies, but I can't see having more than one.
