Once upon a time, on the other site, someone posted up a cool map of Santiago Oaks which I had downloaded to share. It has all (or most) of the trails shown according to ability level. Please use and abuse accordingly.

Yes Jason, but unlike you it takes some of us more than 45 minutes to hit every trail! :p

I need to catch J out there some time and follow him around. I don't know Santiago Oaks very well at all.

I have all of one ride through there... And I already had 30+ miles at that point. It's all a blur! But, I do remember meeting @H2oChick .
    Thanks for reposting the map.

I think the sign post says "Chutes Ridgeline"?

Chutes Trail goes up(the way most people climb)

    Chutes Ridgeline goes down(jumps/chunk/berms)

This map was out of date days after it was posted...the park was about halfway through the major overhaul. The park's official map is now a more accurate resource, even if it's not nearly as descriptive.

I wonder how much James Niehues charges?

Check out the IMBA MTB Project...crowd-sourced info that's reviewed by our local chapter to make sure illegal trails aren't posted and the ratings are reasonably accurate.

Trail forks by pink bike is another source...but just started up.

That "ungroomed All Mountain" designation on Peralta Hills may just explain why I couldn't climb it last time I was out there. I didn't know you weren't supposed to go up.

Ahhh, the famous ski area trail map genius! When I was a kid, I would study ski area maps for hours, mind-skiing every trail. I've been enjoying his work for 45 years - or maybe there was someone prior who did a similar style. Either way - cheers to him!

Before I moved next to Oaks in 2014 I found the map posted above and there was also an updated version but I only have a screenshot of it. (I know, old thread but I was just poking around on here today).

Been there a million times and never dropped down Peralta. Is it fun? Compare it to any other trails there.

My most common routes are Chutes to Cactus to Bumblebee to A) Yucca to Coachwhip or B) Grasshopper to MtnGoat and Coachwhip and then Barham Ridge and Chutes Ridgeline down.

Heading there this afternoon in fact!

Peralta is great....only problem is you have to climb back up from the bottom...if you are not into that kinda thing.

Climbing up to go back down is what makes it fun. At least I think so.

I mean that once you finish Peralta, you have to climb back up Oak or Goat to get back to the other goods.

Well I doubt I'll work Perelta into the circuit again, as I'd rather drop Grasshopper or Yucca. It wasn't terrible by any means, but it just didn't flow well, especially with the short steep grind up in the middle.

Peralta grows on you. The climb in the middle isn't bad.

Personally I enjoy it much more than Grasshopper. Then again I like to climb so I don't mind don't my them all.
