This is a social cruise. We ride at the speed of the slowest rider. No pressure. This is low lying rolling hills, more Cross Country. No sustained climbs but a ton of Singletrack networks that have been built over decades. I have been riding there since the 90’s.

Possible Bail-Outs: You are never more than 4 miles from the Trailhead.

This is an after work no pressure ride that runs at the speed of the slowest rider. Social pace with moments of effort. All are welcome.
I only request that if you are going to attend, PM me and let me know so I for sure go. Sometimes work gets in the way and I want to be responsible as the ride leader.

Do not be intimidated about this ride. It’s a fun place to ride with no big climbs!
So come out and ride bikes!

Note: It can get very windy on some days.

    :thumbsup:Mikie

Technically it is closed and some semi-serious fences have been put up. They have been circumvented and there are other access points which have not been fenced yet. @Mikie I can ride this Wednesday, June 6th.

Hah! I was sitting at the Cul de Sac a week ago and a couple of Sheriffs pulled up and said, “How’s it going?”
I said,”Great! Just finished my ride!”
The passenger cop said,”How you getting in now, I come out here to ride as well?”
I told him that I putt over to P8, there is an easy access point there.
He says,”Thanks! Hope to see you out there. I ride a Specialized”
I said, “Awesome, let’s hook up a ride sometime”,and gave him an imtbtrails sticker.
The cop was stoked about the sticker!

I don’t think anyone is taking the closure serious except the guys who want the closure!

I probably can’t ride on Monday due to work, see you Wednesday!

Rich rode there last week and talked to one of the construction guys. He said they don't really care as long as the riders stay away from the work areas during the week. The north ridge and the west end have nothing going on so that's where to go during the week. See you Wednesday! Anybody else in?

My domicile is within 1 mile of Knott's Berry Farm. The chance that I could make a midweek Antelope Valley ride is somewhere between slim and none. :(

    Slim's on vacation, BTW.

Joe McDaniels is the Director for the B2 Bomber program, used to be on my Proflex race team. Homer Salinas and Mike Balice are both coworkers at NGC as well. Homer used to race all the races I did back in the 90’s, Mike Balice is a Moto guy who cross trains riding bikes. He has done the Acton Trail with me in years past.

A little excitement here Wednesday. A brush fire in your riding area is no joke, especially with 25 mph winds. Fire trucks passed me just as I reaching the parking area. Fortunately, the Fire Dept. chopper made short work of the fire by sucking water up from the aqueduct and drenching the hill side. That guy has skillz. Greeat job of flying in high winds. We quickly made our way to the south ridge trails so we would be out of the way and have a good view of the action. Too far away for good cell phone pics unfortunately. When the smoke died down we rode in for a closer look on one of our usual trails. No real damage done other than some nice vegetation torched. Rumor has it that it was started while they were welding the new water tank for the housing tract. Isn't progress great?:gag:

The good news is that none of our awesome trails were harmed. Come and get you some.

    Yop!
We was there! In fact we saw @CBone and said hello as we passed on our way out to ride. I think it was “125” mph winds that day. I’m pretty sure it was the highest wind speed I have ever attempted to ride my bike! Joe Mac and Mike Balice were not sure if they wanted to thank me after the ride (naturally they did when it was over).

My issue is the dark. I don't see well at night and I don't have cataracts. Use to ride motorcycles to Newcombs every Thursday after work, but had trouble when the dark hits. We shall see
