Not a review, but an announcement. Ibis just released their new long travel 29er today. The Ripmo. I'm salivating just a bit...... I love my Ripley, but it would be fun to throw a leg over this bike just to see how it rides.

I have been checking it out on the interweb all weekend. I don't know why. Just last week I was interested in a short travel trail bike. Maybe I just like bikes?

There are reviews posted all over now....MTBR, Pinkbike and Vital. I only read the MTBR one where fc (MTBR owner) raved about it. Last week, before he could say officially what he was riding, he made a comment that he "was riding a bike that has him rethinking his Capra 29er plans"...and he had gushed about the Capra capabilities. I saw a later post on the Capra forum that he went ahead with the Capra. That being said, he was super impressed with how nice the new Ibis went downhill...and UP. The 1st photos I saw of the bike were the blue frame with the smaller shock and it just didn't grab my attention but the beefier MTBR build with a black frame and X2 shock looks nicer. Still not sure I'd say "sexy" but others will obviously think otherwise. I loved the lime green HD3 but most other Ibis offerings as far as *looks* go are just kid of meh for me.

and I was just about to buy a santa cruz hightower lt...excited to try the ripmo. Glad they made it longer reach than a typical ibis, all the others I have tried seem like they are designed for t-rex.

Even the LS versions. Hopefully they got it right on the Ripmo.

I pulled the trigger on a Ripmo today. I've been waiting for this bike to be released for awhile. Met/exceeded my expectations on paper. I usually don't buy without a demo ride, but I love my Ripley LS and figured it was worth a gamble. Ibis seems to know how to make a good bike (now that they've figured out the geometry thing).

Not sure yet on the ETA for mine. I upgraded the shock and fork, so not quite off the shelf. My buddy's ETA is 3-4 weeks.

This is all I have to get me thru the wait.

I think this is what the Ibis EWS team is riding this season. While I've admired a lot of the long travel 29ers that are or recently...this is the first one that makes me say daaayyum.

    yep, originally from Missoula.

Nice Kendall-Weed video, but got me thinking I shouldn't buy that bike because I don't ride remotely close to that level of skill :).

Have a demo planned for late April. Have already demo'ed a Ibis Ripley ls, Pivot Switchblade and Santa Cruz hightower lt. Almost 9 years since I last purchased a full suspension bike and planning to keep the next bike awhile, so want to get some miles on prior to purchase. But on paper, it sure looks like the bike I have wanted for awhile.
