I've had a Camelbak Lobo for a little over 10 years now and feel like it's time to get a new hydration pack. I can get a Shimano Unzen at a pretty good discount, but have never seen one in person. Has anyone used one of those? I'm looking at U4 or U6. Thanks!

I have not. If after you do see one and you arent quite sold, I recommend Osprey packs.

There is a hydration shootout in the latest issue of MBA. Unfortunately they don't test the Shimano.

I would think that they are going to be biased in their results. I hear more about Camelbak in that mag than any other pack brand.

Once you try something similar to the Osprey mesh backpanel...

I've had two of the Shimano backpacks and really like them. I can recommend it as one of the best.

I didn't even know that Shimano made hydration packs.
I came across the Volt and it was game over on design, comfort, compaction and space. Water is in the bottom of the pack and has held up during my superman over the bars stunts several times.
I did a product review of it here: http://imtbtrails.com/magazine/?p=1388
